Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. Most well-known is her playing Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto, she took acting lessons after achieving the success of modeling and dancing. After securing a few commercials as well as guest roles on TV seriesMitchell got her big break when she was commissioned in the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. Her performance was well-received for her talent by critics as well with people who loved her. Her mother is a Filipina as is her father, and she is of Irish and Scottish heritage. Mitchell's cousin has the name of Lea Salonga who is a popular musical theater actor and actress. Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary, before switching to West Vancouver Secondary. At the end of her teenage years she was modeling for a variety of companies across the globe. She traveled to Barcelona, Bangkok, Hong Kong and then returned to Toronto where she began studying acting.
