Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher as did her mother, who was a housewife. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick was a talented entertainer and singer at a young age. She would show puppet shows for the neighbors. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask whether she was keen to work in show business. McCormick got her first big job when she was cast in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show the play Wind It Up And It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from among 1500 children who had auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded girls in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The show ran for 5 seasons. McCormick disclosed the story Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year duration on the program. She was just 16 when she was in the scene and he was just 19. The incident would have happened according to her. However, the timing for our marriage was not the right one.
