Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was a flute, piano and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 1970s. Lennox made it through on an allowance for students, and worked part-time to help supplement her income. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied with her skill when compared with her peers and was contemplating a different direction she would take. Lennox began her career as an instrument player within the band Dragons Playground. The group didn't appear on the talent contest New Faces on I.T.V. From 1977 to 1980 she served as the main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop group. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics.
